Dear OM, SWL and/or Scientist, welcome to the Ionosfera Project website !

Ionosfera is a project made by and thought for Radio-amateurs all over the world. It is aimed at improving trans-ionospheric communications (DX) with related predictions.

For Radio-amateurs, the ionosphere is a fantastic means to explore and communicate over long distances (DX) often with people from other continents. This means is however still quite unknown. It interests many of us and induces many questions which, if answered, could improve our knowledge and use of the ionosphere.

So Ionosfera, this website, and the two proposed services (free-of-charge) intend to help you in improving your knowledge and use of the ionosphere. In addition, you are given a possibility to actively take part and support the world-wide Scientific research on this theme : Ionosfera has in fact been selected and inserted in the European Space Agency (ESA) framework of activities on the "Space Weather".

The two proposed (and free-of-charge) services are :

Collection and use of operational data on DX links

Thanks to your data (similar to that of a QSL) on achieved radio-links, your station will be characterised with respect to the ionosphere conditions :

The 360 Analysis here presented makes use of your data to help you in selecting the optimal parameters for ionosphere propagation (frequency and antenna orientation) based on the effective conditions of the Sun and on the geo-magnetic environment.

Your effort is in this way entirely rewarded ! Thank you for contributing.

Tools for the prediction and analysis of the radio-links through ionosphere

Whatever may be your technical preparedness on the subject, in this service you will find information on the effective conditions of the radio-propagation in the ionosphere as well as on-line software programmes aimed at helping you understand and predict radio-links through the ionosphere.

You should thus be able to improve your knowledge, your results in the different DX Awards but most important of all, your pleasure to stay in radio !
